As Warpcon 2009 was pretty much sponsored by Ray O'Mahony, we are publishing two of his scenarios on the site this week. 'Where Devils Fear To Tread' is a Strike Force Zero scenario, and 'For a Fistful of Credits' is a Serenity RPG. I'm assured there are plenty more where those came from, so get writing more games Ray! If any of you have scenarios you would also like us to publish, don't hesitate to get in contact!
We at IrishGaming.Com also have an announcement to make - we are running a scenario writing competition!
The goal of the competition will be to write a new scenario of a minimum of 5000 words. There's a catch: the genre of the scenario will be supplied, as will three ideas which must be included in your scenario, and the game must be written over a single weekend.
The winning scenario will be chosen by a judge independent to IrishGaming.Com, the Noted Industry figure Gar Hanrahan. The winner will be presented with a fabulous prize and be showcased on IrishGaming.Com's Friday update, which will be dedicated to their winning game.
More information and rules will be available soon, so check back here to find out more! Write Comment (3 comments) |

This week is the week of Brian Nisbet, con organiser, GameEire.Com impresario and my nemesis. This week we've uploaded "Dastardly Devilment and Daring Deeds", "Irreality to Order" and "Slithering Whispers" by Brian, sneaking him into joint second place for the writer with the most scenarios on the site. Con season is in full swing here in muggy, miserable and maudlin Ireland (yeah - I'm looking out my window at the drizzle and wishing I was gaming instead.) Which means you've all either been at a con recently or are going to one in the near future. If you've written a scenario for the con, send it to us! If you've played something you thought was amazing, tell us and we'll see if we can prise a copy from the cold dead hands of the author.
This week we've "Veils of Purity" and "Free Your Mind" by Colm Lundberg and "City of Angels" by Ray O'Mahony. This puts Colm into second place for author with the most scenarios on the site. Judging by how Warpcon was practically sponsored by Ray O'Mahony it's only a matter of time.
Lastly, we're about to let loose what we think is going to be a fantastic idea on the gaming public. We're hoping lots of people are going to be interested and will get involved. We'll be unveiling it before Leprecon at the end of the month, so watch this space!
