Reminder: IrishGaming.Com Scenario Writing Competition Print
Written by Noirin Curran
Jul 02, 2009 at 08:44 AM

We've just decided to put up an early update as a reminder that the IrishGaming.Com Scenario Writing Competition will take place this weekend. The requirements will go live tomorrow - Friday 3rd of July at 8pm - and the deadline for submissions is Sunday 5th of July at 8pm.

The Goal

The goal is to send us one RPG scenario – a minimum of 5000 words. The genre of the scenario and three ideas that must be included in the scenario will be supplied by IrishGaming.Com at the start of the competition – the writer may choose the exact game system.

The scenario must be written over the weekend and submitted by the deadline of 8pm, Sunday 5th of July.

The Prize

A €50 voucher and a trophy to be handed to the winner, the trophy to be handed back after one year to IrishGaming.Com. The IrishGaming.Com Friday update for one week to be dedicated to the winning entry, ideally with a photo of the winner to be displayed (but we understand that not everyone is photogenic, and not everyone wants to have their picture taken!)

Rules

* The winner will be chosen by an independent judge (noted industry professional Gar Hanrahan) rather than by IrishGaming.Com – the judge’s decision will be final and binding.

* Scenarios will be graded based on playability, originality, and readability.

* The scenario must be a new one – not one that has ever been run at a games convention in Ireland.

* The competition is open only to Irish writers (by which we mean writers who live in Ireland.)

* The competition is closed to Nick Huggins, Noirin Curran and our independent judge.

* All scenarios submitted for the competition will be made available for public download on IrishGaming.Com – copyright for these scenarios will remain with the original author.

Check back tomorrow from 8pm for the scenario requirements!
