Page 1 of 2 Hello, Irish Gamers, it's been awhile!
As Warpcon has now come to a close, we have a scenario for you from the lovely Mike Calnan, his 5-Player DC Adventures RPG from Warpcon 2012 - Batmen of the Future: The Last Laugh
15 years ago Gotham city was rocked by a rising tide of violence and chaos that only ended when Batman fought the Joker in Arkham Asylum. That night the Arkham burned and though no sign was ever found of either Joker or the Batman’s body neither was seen again in Gotham. Time passed and Gotham changed, the crazies and the costumed freaks faded from the city. Nowadays people rarely think about those terrible years when the city was terrorised by masked criminals and when they do many consider Batman as bad as the rest of them.
But all that is about to change, a terrorist claiming to be the Joker has attacked Gotham blowing up chemical bombs in crowded public spaces exposing dozens to the Joker toxin. With the city in chaos and the police seemingly powerless to help you have taken it upon yourself to take up the mantle of the Bat and see that Gotham is once more protected by the Dark Knight.
Enjoy!

Comment by GUEST on 2013-03-24 00:30:15 I think there definitely shloud have been more Christian Bale in the movie, but at the same time, the story didn't need it. Everything about that storyline was amazing. I think it actually makes it better to focus on the Joker's points and Dent's fall from grace, and that whole thing was just SO. INCREDIBLY. POETIC. But I'm still sad at less Batman/Wayne. =(The disappearing pencil trick was my favorite scene. I have a pretty sick sense of humor, but I thought it went into his eye socket and my friend thought the Joker used the guy's head to hammer it into the table. Either way, OUCH. I like the fact that Batman has a different voice, for storyline reasons, but I think it bordered on too much in this film. It didn't bother me in the first one, though, so, I dunno. I just know that I can't do that without sounding like an idiot. The catwoman thing--someone pointed it out to me, and I think it's a perfect setup. I'd love to see how the Nolans wrote it, if they do, and also I think the more hard-core fans deserve better than Halle Barry's (even though I myself had no problems with it). I think it's also going to be interesting to see if the "villains" might hint that the Joker is still working in the background. I think they are going to get some Batgirl- or Catwoman-type thing going on in the next film, not necessarily because they killed off the Love Interest but because they killed off the female lead. But poor Bruce, I wanted to hug him when Rachel died. =( And Dent, too, when he was screaming "NO, NO, YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO SAVE MEEEE" =C oh sadfaces.I think, possibly because I just reread American Gods this summer, but I think that my favorite bit of poetry in the film is Dent's coin. As the White Knight he's cheating, he's making his own luck, but he's doing good. Then--I'm still kind of lost as to what happens to him with the Joker in the hospital, because every time the Joker walked on I was just toally entranced by how silly he was--he gives in to chaos because its fair, and though his coin is still double-headed, there's the light side, and the dark side. And the dark side, he shoots Batman. The light side, he doesn't shoot himself. And the coin lands light side up for Gordon's son, though whether that's supposed to mean "he would have lived" or "Batman just saved his ass", I'm not sure. But I still think it's absolutely brilliantly beautiful. | Comment by GUEST on 2013-03-25 14:54:17 FFaMDw wdwivyhnqznk | Comment by GUEST on 2013-03-25 14:54:30 Igu3jj jvnnfgnejudm | Comment by GUEST on 2013-03-25 14:54:58 YxWCkM viceiyiwoank | Comment by GUEST on 2013-03-25 20:55:47 kGXXnj , wghugraieebz, [link=http://tgaognmlrjji.com/]tgaognmlrjji[/link], http://frwijvkurjuj.com/ | Comment by GUEST on 2013-03-28 03:07:41 rSOzs6 , nwksygofakfc, [link=http://pqgijidrqblh.com/]pqgijidrqblh[/link], http://bmmrmarhhaxx.com/ | Comment by GUEST on 2015-09-25 18:52:44 Great common sense here. Wish I'd thhuogt of that. | Comment by GUEST on 2015-10-08 13:43:43 Playing it on PS3 as of 17 hours ago (Guam midnight reasele, 24 hrs ahead of U.S. mainland FTW!!!) and all I can say ladies and gentleman is spellbindly epic win on all levels!!!! Gorgeous graphics and level design, buttery smooth performance and controls, a 9.8 at the very least so far and I ain't even halfway through (admittedly only got in 3 hrs playtime due to work and family committments as a husband and dad). I expect that number could creep excitingly close to 10 territory as BAA definitely got better and better as it went on. I personally thought BAA was a solid 9.5. But recent sentiments circulating online that this is the best implementation of UE3 even better than Gears 3 s are hard to argue with folks! A masterfully optimized experience. Might I add that I also sampled the 360 version that was on display adjacent to a PS3 which was also running the game. Very veeeeeery close! Rocksteady are elite of the elite second only to Naughty Dog in overall development polish this generation. No one is going to be disappointed whatever version they choose.VN:F [1.9.17_1161](from 1 vote) | Comment by GUEST on 2015-10-09 01:56:54 I concur! I own BAA on PC and PS3 for that very roeasn. PS3 version for trophies and for being the definitive console version at the time with more graphical polish and exclusive content than 360 version, PC for having overall graphic superiority with advanced implementation of Physx based effects and ability to play max settings in 2560 1600 resolution. 360 and PS3 versions of BAA were extremely close with slight edge to PS3. This time I think BAC is even closer from what I've played. I hope PC version supports DX11 but I haven't read anything on this.VN:F [1.9.17_1161](from 0 votes) | Comment by GUEST on 2015-10-09 10:11:07 You really are just a smlpie creature aren't you ..Fact Arkham Asylum looked better on the ps3 if you want to go check out all the old comparisons And having played the 360 version of Arkham asylum when I knew someone that bought it. There was also a lag between the controller and batman actually doing something, and I'd bet my first born child the same will apply for this one also .Good job trying to troll though, and way to be a fanboy since i'd also bet you only touched the 360 version of the 1st game.VN:F [1.9.17_1161](from 6 votes) http://reuytaa.com xtcapgcqkf [link=http://hpruevr.com]hpruevr[/link] |
